Kuala Lumpur shopping is a must for all visitors. If you are planning to visit Malaysia for shopping purpose, try to plan your visit to coincide with the Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival.
The mid year Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival is on from July to September. Most shopping complexes are offering great discounts during this time of the year. Many items are on discount ranging from 10% to 75%.
The Malaysia Year End Sale is scheduled to be held from November to January.

Pavilion Kuala Lumpur
Pavilion KL is set to be the new shopping experience for all who come here. This centre will be opened on Sept 20, 2007 and is located at Jalan Bukit Bintang. Lots of excitement has been generated by this latest addition to the city of Kuala Lumpur in conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2007. You will be able to experience the shopping standards comparable to Tokyo's Ginza and New York's 5th Avenue.This 7-storey building will have 450 retail outlets shops, urban leisure areas as well as food and beverages outlets. 20% out of the 450 outlets will be new brands in Malaysia.Entrance from the street will lead you directly to the 3rd floor of the building. If you are coming from Suria KLCC, you can use the sky bridge that connects Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre to Pavilion KL.

Suria KLCC
KLCC Suria is an ultramodern and the most prestigious shopping centre in Malaysia. It is located at the base of Petronas Twin Towers and is serviced by most major transportation system in the city. There are many festivals that are celebrated in Malaysia and this shopping complex is among the first that features a certain theme during this time of the year. There are 6 levels of retail outlets with more than 270 stores that offer goods ranging from the latest electronic gadgets in town to Malaysia's traditional crafts. Star Hill Gallery
Starhill has an elegant edifice in brown marble and good trimmings and with its 250,000 square feet of net retail space housing the finest international as well as Malaysian names that offer shoppers an endless choice of clothes, jewellery, watches, accessories, leather goods and various designer items. The [LVMH Group] of brands led by Louis Vuitton, Dior and Fendi are all exclusively housed in Starhill Gallery. Other exclusive brands available only in Starhill include Asprey, Garrard, Brioni, Lanvin, Canali, Mulberry, Porsche Design, Jim Thompson, Bang & Olufsen, Alessi, Ligne Roset , Anne Klein, TUMI and Eric Way. Mid Valley Megamall
Mid Valley Megamall is one of the largest shopping mall in the city of Kuala Lumpur with over 430 retail shops. It was awarded the Best Shopping Complex Award 2000 by Tourism Malaysia and Best Retail Development Award 2001 by FIABCI Malaysia. A visit to Malaysia would not be complete without visiting this mall. It is easily accessible as there are KTM Komuter trains, buses and taxis that ply this route regularly.
The Gardens, a new wing was opened to the public on October 2007. This new wing is connected to the mall through a bridge. The Garden at Mid Valley
The Gardens (also known in full as The Gardens at Mid Valley City) is an upcoming mixed development in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is the second phase of Mid Valley City, which also houses the Mid Valley Megamall. The Gardens is planned to contain a high-end shopping centre, as well as four towers, one housing a hotel, another housing residential suites and the remaining two housing office space. Since The Gardens and Mid-Valley Megamall are built and managed by the same company, there are many levels of accessibility between Mid-Valley and The Gardens. In the first floor, there is a roofed bridge connected both shopping malls. At the ground level, a make shift roofed walkway has been built to facilitate foot traffic during both rain and shine. A taxi stand featuring premier taxis is integrated with the main entrance. At the lower ground level, a tunnel between both shopping mall exists.
Sungai Wang Plaza
Sungei Wang Plaza is a popular shopping centre situated in the Bukit Bintang area of Kuala Lumpur. It was opened in 1977.The mall is well known for gathering a variety of products under one roof, including clothes, soft toys, games, watches, bookstore, lifestyle items and entertainment. The sixth floor of the mall has been established as T-zone (aka. Trendy Zone on The Roof), which generally caters for teenager fashion clothes, shoes and other trinkets. A lot of local designer clothes and accessories can be found with affordable price.The third floor (IT@Sungei Wang) is known for its selection of computers, IT hardware and software. Connecting the mall with the main road is Fiesta Street which is a new sidewalk with a selection of Italian, American, Chinese, South African and Aseana fare.
Lot 10
Lot 10 is situated within central Kuala Lumpur's new shopping and entertainment district, Bintang Walk. It was officially opened on 1 August 1991. It is easily recognised by its bright green facade and bold modern architecture. It has almost 100 retail stores and boutiques. The outlets are mixtures of high end and middle level products such as Nike, Esprit, G2000, etc. There is also a food court at the basement.There is also a department store - Isetan- a Japanese store that stocks a range of goods from groceries to electronic appliances and clothes to tools, many of them being Japanese brands. There are many other retail shops selling things from gifts to books inside- on it six floors. Weekdays is the best time to shop here because it is less crowded than at weekends. If Starhill is the big daddy of designer cool, Lot 10 is the groovy godson. Lot 10 is also a favourite with tourists and up-market shoppers.

Low Yat Plaza
Low Yat Plaza is an established commercial shopping centre specializing in electronics and IT products in Malaysia. As an IT related product shopping centre, Low Yat Plaza is the most well known and most established among competitors and is to Kuala Lumpur what Sim Lim Square and Funan is to Singapore. LYP is behind Melia Kuala Lumpur hotel and which is opposite to Berjaya Times Square if coming from Imbi Monorail station and behind Sungei Wang Plaza if coming from Bukit Bintang Monorail station. Sandwiched between Melia and Sungei Wang. Low Yat Plaza stands out by offering a greater range and variety of a single product by having a collective of inter-chained stores. This is in contrast with streamlined arrangements in other electronics malls. Each floor within the complex has its own speciality specialising in laptops, mobile phones, etc.
Berjaya Times Square
Berjaya Times Square Kuala Lumpur is located at Jalan Imbi, one of the most busy shopping area in the city. You will not miss this place as its brown colour building stands up from among the rest of the buildings in the vicinity. It is Malaysia's biggest shopping mall with over 3.45 million square feet that houses more than 1,000 retail lots. There are 700 specialty retail shops, 1,200 luxury service suites and 45 food outlets that give you plenty of choice to choose from. An estimated 3 million visitors visited this mall every month.
1 Utama Shopping Center
1 utama shopping center is one of Malaysia's top shopping destination and is located in the city of Petaling Jaya. This shopping center is about 20 minutes drive from the city of Kuala Lumpur. It has 6 retail floors with a total area of 5 million square feet. There are over 600 shops that sell all kind of goods that you can look and browse through. As one of the biggest shopping mall in Malaysia, 1 utama has something for everyone. If you need entertainment, there are Tanjung Golden Village and Golden Screen Communications cinemas that screened the latest box office hits in town. On top of that there is also the indoor rock climbing gym Camp5. Bowling enthusiasts will be happy to use the 36 lane bowling Centre U-Bowl. It also boasts of a tropical rainforest within the shopping center where huge tropical plants are a permanent feature of this premier shopping center.
Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall
Sunway Pyramid Mall was established in July 1997 and is one of the popular mall that residents and visitors go to for their shopping and entertainment especially during the weekends. It is located in the township of Bandar Sunway, Petaling Jaya. Sunway Lagoon Theme Park is located just beside this mall.The design of the mall include the Egyptian Pyramid and the lion standing at the entrance to the mall. This mall was recently remodelled and expanded with new outlets and is expected to have more than 800 retail outlets. The new wing was opened in September, 2007 with Jaya Jusco as one of the main tenant, taking 4 floors. Other fashion and lifestyle outlets include Principles, Marks & Spencer, California Fitness, Harvey Norman, Ace Hardware, Lorenzo, Lacoste, Gap and Raoul to name a few.
Alamanda Shopping Centre Putrajaya
Alamanda Putrajaya is the first shopping centre built in Putrajaya, Malaysia. The Alamanda Putrajaya mall, located in Precinct 1, costs about RM 380 million (USD 100 million) to build and was first opened at the end of August 2004. With the signing of Carrefour as the anchor tenant and along with the potential 180 tenants, Alamanda catalysed commercial activities for Putrajaya and create numerous job opportunities.Other anchors now include Parkson, Cold Storage, Golden Screen CinemasThe shopping centre has a variety of shops, restaurants, bowling alleys, movie theatres and a food court illuminated by natural lighting. It is designed with two levels to allow even distribution and smooth flow of shoppers within the premises.


Ikano Power Centre
Ikano Power Centre in Mutiara Damansara is one of the most visited shopping centre in Petaling Jaya. It is located within walking distance of Cineleisure Damansara, IKEA, TESCO, The Curve and The Royale Bintang Damansara Hotel. This mammoth concept shopping complex houses up to 11 anchor tenants which take up 80% of the approximately 39,000 square metres retail space.The tagline of Ikano is "Choice is Everything" where you will be able to find something that meet your lifestyle and household needs. The goods offered here include hardware accessories for your household needs, wide range of books, electrical items, groceries, latest fashion in town, home furnishings, sporting goods and food. The Curve
The Curve in Mutiara Damansara is a 3 storey shopping mall which houses a varieties of goods and food outlets. It is located within walking distance of Ikano Power Centre, Tesco, Cineleisure Damansara and IKEA Home Furnishings. A bridge links the Curve to Ikano at Level 1, Asian Courtyard. IKEA Home Furnishings is linked via Fashion Court, Ground Floor and Cineleisure Damansara is linked through the bridge at Level 1, Asian Courtyard.
